History of Paul's Transfer

We are a full service, independent moving company founded by Paul Clark. Our origins start in Morristown back in 1954 when Paul was a door to door bread salesman. After some encouragement from a customer, Paul bought a flat bed truck and started cleaning out basements. What was good he would sell, the rest was taken to the dump. He was still running his bread route 5 days a week as well. One of Paul's first moving vans. Paul decided that he needed to expand his vision and persuaded 6 furniture companies to use him to deliver their goods to customers. He hired two men and business began to grow. At this time, business was so good that he left his bread truck route and started moving furniture full time. The business grew to where he started doing more household moves. He would call on homes with for sale signs and give them a quote on moving. By 1957 the work had paid off and Paul was operating three trucks and leasing a warehouse for customer storage. In August of 1957 Paul became an agent for North American Vanlines. In 1963, he had aquired a second warehouse facility. The business had grown to fourteen trucks and forty-one employees. In 1969 the state started building Route 287 through Morristown and both warehouses were demolished to make way for the new construction. At this point, he sold his moving company and moved to Hunterdon County. In 1980, Paul created Paul's Transfer Company and has been working in Hunterdon County and the surrounding areas ever since. In an effort to provide more services for our customers, we became an agent for Wheaton World Wide Moving in the fall of 2002. This gives us the ability to offer more competitive domestic rates as well as international services. Paul's Transfer is still growing and looking forward to the future of our business with the residents of Hunterdon, Warren, and all the surrounding areas.
